SDC announces ‘Colour Rampage 2013’ in Mumbai


The Society of Dyers and Colourists (SDC) will organize ‘Colour Rampage 2013’, a Fashion show on November 24 at Hilton hotel, International Airport in Mumbai. The event will bring together an international line up of leading designers, brands, retailers, universities and students.

The fashion show, which is being organized by SDC EC (the Indian region of the SDC), will showcase the work of fashion and textile design students from leading Indian colleges and universities. It will be attended by designers, brands and retailers, and provides a neutral platform for the students to display their work to future employers. It is planned that this will become an annual event.

The event also hosts the grand final of the SDC International Design Competition 2013.  This competition, which is open to fashion and textile design students, asks the students to 'demonstrate the creative, imaginative and original use of color in either fashion or textiles'.

The grand final will be attended by the finalists from Australia/New Zealand, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Pakistan, Singapore, South Africa, Thailand and the United Kingdom. Established in 2002, this prestigious competition is an incredible experience for the students, and has acted as a launchpad into industry for a number of the winners. The winner will be announced following the fashion show and will receive £1,000 in cash and the Veronica Bell trophy.
