‘Geron’s USP Is Its Continuous Innovation To Meet The Spinners’ Need For Quality, Productivity’

Geron Card Clothing (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. has been supplying the complete range of card clothing products for all applications since 1965, and is the largest card clothing company in China. Geron is the only company with an R&D centre for card clothing in China. In conversation with Ashutosh Gilra, Chief Representative in India, Geron Card Clothing, Textile Excellence tried to understand their experience at ITMA Asia + CITME 2018 and growing market in India.

How was the response for Geron at ITMA Asia?
Geron has received a very warm response at ITMA Asia + CITME 2018. We were happy to welcome several leading Indian and Pakistani customers at our stalls and discuss business. In fact, we met our customers from Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and Bangladesh in sizeable numbers.

This has been icing on the cake as we were showcasing our entire product range at the show and have been happy to demonstrate our capability first hand to our valued customers. Apart from this, we had large number of regular customers from China visiting our stall.

Did you receive expected number of customers from India during the show?
Yes, a lot of spinners from India’s south, central and western India, visited us at the show. However, North Indian customers were little less than expected but in terms of numbers we are very satisfied meeting our customers from India.

You have a wide range of products for the textile spinning mills, how are you positioned in terms of competition and ROI?
Geron has a tradition of coming up with innovative products at a regular intervals. This is to cater to the spinning industry’s ever increasing demand for better quality and higher productivity. We have solutions for spinning mills based on their need and product they manufacture. It makes Geron’s products very attractive for mills and we ensure spinners have a healthy ROI than competitors.

How do you view the South Asian market, and  especially the Indian market?
In India, we have been growing in sales volumes rapidly year-on-year for the past few years. This growth is not only because of the new spindles added in India in the past few years, but also as our customers have experienced the value we bring to them over the product life cycle. In other Asian countries, Geron has an excellent track record of growth in Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.

As ITMA is on the horizon, will Geron have more innovations to showcase?
Of course, we will be showcasing our new innovations at ITMA 2019 and unveil the details at the right time. I am happy to share that ‘Geron Card Clothing Research Centre’ is the only such R&D centre for card clothing in China and has several patents to its credit. Backed by our strong R&D, we will have interesting innovations to showcase at ITMA 2019.
