India Carpet Expo Concluded 3rd Virtual Edition and Awarded Distinguished Designs


Indian handmade carpets and floor coverings have exclusive place among premium consumers across the world. Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC) which is the apex body that oversees the export of these exclusive Indian crafts has organised 3rd Virtual Edition of 41st India Carpet Expo which concluded successfully on 31st January 2021.

The show was inaugurated on 27th January 2021 by Shantmanu, IAS, Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) and has received overwhelming response from around 206 overseas buyers from 50 countries and 65 Buying Representatives/ Buying Houses from across the world. Over 150 prominent carpet manufacturers and exporters from major carpet belt of Bhadohi, Mirzapur, Varanasi, Agra, Jaipur, Panipat, Jammu & Kashmir have participated in the5-day Expo. Speaking about the show, Siddh Nath Singh, Chairman, CEPC said the virtual event is an initiative to bridge the gap between Indian products and demand of Handmade Carpets and floor coverings across the globe in post pandemic era.

Carpet Export Promotion Council has also hosted a “Design Awards – 2021”to appreciate and recognize the hard work of participants especially the younger generation in the industry. The winners of awards are as below:

Best Hand Knotted Carpet
First: K.P& Company, Jaipur
Second: OAC Rugs, Bhadohi and Global Overseas, Bhadohi

Best Handloom Carpet/Durrie
First:Navkar Home, Bikaner
Second: Mahesh Exports, Varanasi

Best Handmade Dhurry
First: Jaipur Rugs, Jaipur
Second: Gallery, Bhadohi

Best Traditional Design: Noor Carpets, Bhadohi

Best Contemporary Design: The Rug Furnish, Jaipur
