Origin Africa Exhibition that assists sourcing of Africa made textiles and apparels to be held in Tanzania in 2019. First held in 2010, Origin Africa has grown each year and is now recognised as Africa’s premier trade show for the Cotton, Textile and Apparel industry. The 10th edition of Origin Africa will be held at Tanzania’s capital city Dar es Salaam, from 28th – 30th October, 2019. The trade fair would showcase products, services and skills of a wide variety of exhibitors while an informative conference on Enhancing Productivity – The Path to Sustainable Competitiveness would be held on 28th October 2019 concurrently with the main show.
The Origin Africa Exhibition attracts regional and international buyers looking to initiate or expand their sourcing from the African continent. Visitors from around the world, NGOs, Aid Agencies and Trade and Investment Promotion Organisations use the platform to enhance their understanding of and presence in the region. In line with our Pan African Vision and Mandate, the event is usually hosted in a different African country each year.
The show is organised by African Cotton and Textile Industries Federation (ACTIF). ACTIF is an international trade body formed in June 2005 by the cotton, textile and apparel suppliers from across the Sub-Saharan Africa to create a unified and recognized voice in both regional and global trade affairs. ACTIF’s mandate is to bring the needs of the cotton, textile and apparel sectors into cohesive and consensus driven positions at regional and international trade and development forums. The organisation’s role as the voice of the African Farmer to Fashion value chain continues to grow and is well recognized nationally and internationally.
