The project ‘promoting market transfor for energy efficiency in MSME’ is a joint initiative by UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organisation) and Office of the Development Commissioner MSME which is slated to implement in Surat cluster among SGTPA members.

According to SGTPA, Energy Efficiency Services Ltd. (EESL) will implement the project on behalf of MSME ministry. EESL provide energy and water conserving solutions to the industry and aim at saving at least 15% of these resources from current level. This would be achieved through replacement of inefficient old equipment like boilers, motors, drum dryers, screw compressors etc. where 20% of the cost of replacement would be borne by the mill and rest would be funded by the government. EESL would also audit the mills at a regular interval and saving by the processing mill will be refunded to them after the audit.
