Filatex India Embarks On Circular Textile Revolution Through Global Recycling Partnership

Filatex India Ltd. has entered a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Revti Business Pvt. Ltd. and US-based Wastewear Inc., marking its first major step into the circular textile economy. The collaboration aims to create an integrated textile-to-textile recycling model that transforms waste into high-value sustainable fibres, strengthening India’s leadership in green manufacturing.

Under the agreement, Filatex India will convert post-industrial and post-consumer textile feedstock into recycled PET chips and filament yarn that meet global environmental standards. Revti Business will ensure the supply of high-quality, sorted textile waste and serve as a preferred buyer of recycled products. Wastewear Inc. will facilitate the import of textile waste into India and oversee global co-branding and marketing under the “Ecosis” yarn platform.

Filatex’s Chairman and Managing Director, Madhu Sudhan Bhageria, stated that the partnership underscores a joint commitment to scaling textile recycling infrastructure in India while aligning with global sustainability goals.

The alliance will focus on structured procurement of polyester-rich waste, research and development in recycled staple fibre, and co-branded innovation campaigns aimed at promoting sustainable consumption. India currently generates over one million tonnes of textile waste annually, yet less than 10% is effectively recycled. This initiative is expected to significantly enhance the country’s recycling capacity and contribute to the global circular economy. Ecosis will act as the cornerstone of this collaboration, reinforcing the message that textile waste can be transformed into new value, one fibre at a time.
