Chicopee and Sontara will present a united front at The
Manchester Cleaning Show 2026, marking their first joint appearance in the
United Kingdom since becoming part of Magnera. The two professional wiping
brands will exhibit on 18 and 19 February at Manchester Central, highlighting
sustainability led innovation across diverse cleaning applications.
Sustainability Driven Product Innovation
Chicopee will spotlight its latest rMicrofibre™ wipe,
positioned as the first disposable wipe made from 100% recycled and 100%
microfibre material. The product delivers over 99% bacteria removal using only
water and achieves a carbon footprint reduction of around 50% compared to non-recycled
alternatives. Designed for high traffic environments such as healthcare,
hospitality and technology intensive spaces, the wipe reflects rising demand
for efficient and low impact cleaning solutions across Europe.
Advanced Nonwoven Solutions for Specialist Sectors
Sontara will focus on high performance wipes tailored for
industrial, cleanroom and aerospace applications. The brand recently launched a
sustainable wipes portfolio that cuts CO2 emissions by up to 42% compared to
standard variants. The range uses recycled PET from post-consumer bottles and
plastic free fibres including viscose, lyocell, cotton and natural wood pulp,
supported by Sontara’s advanced fabric technology that delivers strength,
absorbency and minimal linting.
Strengthening European Manufacturing Focus
Both brands will undermine their commitment to local
European manufacturing; a strategy aimed at reducing environmental impact and
ensuring supply reliability. Product demonstrations and previews of upcoming
innovations will run throughout the show. The Manchester Cleaning Show 2026 is
expected to attract thousands of professionals from facilities management,
healthcare and industrial cleaning, reinforcing sustainability as a central
theme shaping the future of the nonwovens and wiping industry.
