The Indian Textile Accessories and Machinery Manufacturers’
Association (ITAMMA) drew strong industry participation at its Bhilwara events
held on 30 and 31 January 2026. The 29th product and catalogue show connected
548 decision makers, technicians, manufacturers and traders, supported by 61
exhibitors from across the textile value chain.
The programme included the sixth edition of the B K Mehta
Technology Networking Mission and a special seminar on technical textile
turnkey projects. Speakers stressed the shift toward man-made fibre-based
products and the need for value driven engineered textiles. India stands as the
fifth largest technical textile market globally, while exports of 247 technical
textile items reached Rs 5,946 crore or about US$ 715.48 million in April to
June 2023 to 24.
Industry leaders highlighted opportunities in meditech,
automotive textiles, geotextiles and industrial fabrics. Western economies
account for over 50% of global technical textile output, signalling strong
export potential for India.
Multiple MoUs were signed with industry bodies, universities
and start up platforms to accelerate research, skill development and
commercialisation. The event reinforced Bhilwara’s ambition to move from volume
led production to high value technical textile manufacturing.
