Textile Co Ltd, a China (Hong Kong)-based firm, will set up a readymade garment
unit in the Uttara Export Processing Zone with a US$ 19.59 million investment,
creating 3,254 jobs. Spanning 24,000 sq. m, the factory will produce 7 million
woven and knit garments annually, including shirts, jeans, jackets, and
sweaters, for export to the USA, Canada, Japan, China, Australia, Brazil, the
UK, and EU markets. The land lease agreement was signed with BEPZA, witnessed
by Executive Chairman Major General Mohammad Moazzem Hossain. Construction
begins in April 2026, with exports slated for next year, reinforcing Bangladesh
as a prime destination for global textile investment.
