Sreeja Balachandra has joined Gokaldas Exports Limited
as Associate Vice President in Bengaluru, signalling a sharper push towards
operational excellence in India’s export focused apparel sector.
She will lead transformation programmes across
manufacturing units, focusing on lean systems, process optimisation, and
capability development. The move aligns with industry efforts to enhance
efficiency amid rising cost pressures and tightening global compliance
standards.
India’s apparel exports touched nearly US$ 16 billion in
2025, while productivity gaps versus Bangladesh and Vietnam remain a concern.
Experts note that structured manufacturing excellence frameworks can improve
efficiency by 15% to 25% across large scale factories.
Balachandra brings extensive experience from Classic
Fashion Apparel Industry Ltd. Co., Texport Overseas Pvt. Ltd., Shahi Exports
