UK Sport Targets Apparel Waste

ParalympicsGB has joined the launch of the UK’s first Sustainable Sports Apparel Charter, aimed at reducing overproduction, underuse and waste in sportswear. Developed with leading bodies including British Triathlon and the Royal Yachting Association, the framework sets 15 commitments across seven areas to improve procurement, reuse and lifecycle management. UK sports organisations procured over 88,000 apparel items in 2024, often with excess orders. The Charter seeks low-cost operational changes to cut waste, extend product life and improve access.
