Ultrasonic Scouring, Bleaching, Mercerising, Dye & Print Washing Line By Geratex

Geratex is the pioneer of Ultrasonic Fabric Washing technology globally.  The company introduced their invention - SonicWASH ultrasonic washing line in 2016 and now have a decade long experience with proven performance based on real world results and savings in steam, water, and power.

Based out of Vadodara, Gujarat, Geratex was established by K Venkat Reddy with the aim of creating textile machinery with state-of-the-art technologies for the 21st century. While the use of Ultrasonic technology has long shown at lab level the reduction in steam, water, and power, Geratex has now developed a patented and award-winning technology that has been running for the past decade.

The result of dedicated R&D, in an industry that has not seen any meaningful innovation in the textile processing segment for over 20 years, is a groundbreaking line of machines that have set new standards in textile production. For the past decade, their patented technology has been instrumental in conserving resources such as water, chemicals, and steam while simultaneously reducing effluents and emissions. This is in line with the textile industry’s sustainable manufacturing goals.

Geratex is primarily exports their equipment and has customer base spanning 5 continents and 13 countries, including global giants like Vicunha - a Brazilian textile giant. They have placed orders annually for the past 8 years to upgrade all their washing needs, whether it be dedicated scouring, desize washing, post mercerize washing, along with other systems such as ultrasonic chemical application for bleaching, as well as on their indigo denim line, apart from other systems like singeing and steamers. With a large presence in the Brazilian textile industry, Geratex are now expanding to Europe, with customers in Germany, Norway, Portugal.

The primary attraction for Geratex machines is due to the delivery of profitable outcomes and prioritize sustainability, without compromising on either, surpassing conventional or dated limitations in design and engineering.

By using Ultrasonic technology to accelerate the washing process, the systems deliver the same results at 65°C instead of industry standard of ~90°C. It also eliminates the need for specialized steam or vacuum technology in certain lines such as scouring/de-sizing, resulting reduced downtime, and more importantly eliminating the need of more than 400kg steam per hour.

Furthermore, the washing compartments are completely automated and any line equipped with the system or complete lines as well, requires not more than 2 people to operate and does not require any specialized chemicals/soaps etc. Innovation that has resulted in true plug-and-play systems. Importantly, this also mean that organizations don’t have to change existing SOPs or create new ones to accommodate Geratex technology.

Apart from these advantages, each compartment consists of only 4 guide rolls and 2 rubber rolls (integrated squeezer with drive) compared to the more than 24 in comparable conventional wash-boxes, which significantly reduces downtime for maintenance, which also results in increased productivity.

Geratex has provided machines from the standard working width of 1800mm to the wider width 3400mm.

Geratex has shown that there is indeed a way forward, a system that achieves sustainability through efficiency. The lesser the resource used, results in efficiency, profitability, as well as sustainability.
