Global Fashion Brands Strengthen Traceable Cotton Partnerships in Australia

Global fashion brands and sourcing leaders are deepening their focus on traceable and sustainable cotton sourcing through Cotton Australia’s Camp Cotton initiative in the Namoi Valley. More than 50 delegates from 18 countries participated in the three day programme, representing major brands including J. Crew, Cotton On Group, Country Road, BIG W, Vans, Timberland, and The North Face.

The event showcased Australia’s advanced cotton ecosystem through farm visits, biodiversity research, ginning operations, and fibre traceability demonstrations. Industry experts noted that demand for transparent natural fibre sourcing continues rising globally, especially after sustainable textiles crossed US$ 7.8 billion in global market value during 2025.

Cotton Australia Chair Liz Stott said the initiative strengthens trust between growers and global brands while enhancing long term demand for Australian cotton. Delegates explored precision agriculture, automation, GM cotton research, and sustainable farming systems across Breeza, Narrabri, and Wee Waa.
