Building competitiveness calls for a holistic system
approach rather than a focus on individual machines. This is why Zagis,
a Mexico based spinning mill, chose to invest in a complete Rieter ring
spinning system. For Zagis, this investment has translated into greater
productivity, stabilized yarn quality and full transparency across
production processes. Today, Zagis is ideally positioned to grow both at
home and abroad.
Zagis set out to boost its competitiveness in a demanding
market where yarns of multiple blends of natural and man-made fibres must meet
high downstream expectations. The mill faced the classic balancing act of
increasing productivity without compromising quality, improving consistency
despite fluctuating raw material conditions, reducing manual interventions and
interruptions, and achieving transparency over the spinning process. To stay
ahead at home and abroad, the customer needed a reliable, fully integrated
system that would deliver stable performance day by day.
End-to-end performance underpins Zagis’ growth
“Investing in a complete Rieter system was a strategic
decision that has strengthened our competitiveness in Mexico and our export
markets,” says Rafael Zaga Saba, CEO of Zagis. The fully integrated set-up
starts with the blowroom line VARIOline for gentle, efficient fiber opening and
the card C 80 for high-performance sliver production. The lap winding machine
OMEGAlap E 36 and the comber E 90 deliver outstanding combed sliver quality,
supported by ROBOlap for automated lap change and batt piecing. After combing,
the autoleveler draw frame RSB-D 26 secures precise sliver evenness, while the
roving frame F 40 with the SERVOtrail roving bobbin transport system ensures
smooth and reliable roving handling. Finally, the ring spinning machine G 38
delivers high-quality yarns with excellent strength and evenness. ESSENTIALmonitor,
one of the modules of the Rieter Digital Spinning Suite, enables Zagis to
collect real-time data, identify vulnerabilities and deploy staff efficiently.
Higher productivity and consistently high yarn quality
For Zagis’ CEO Rafael Zaga Saba, the investment is paying
off: “The improvements in productivity, yarn quality and operational
transparency directly support our long-term growth goals.” Automation systems
such as ROBOlap and SERVOtrail reduce manual effort and minimize downtime,
contributing to a more efficient, operator friendly environment. Yarn traders
and downstream customers particularly appreciate the improved yarn evenness,
which strengthens the mill’s position in domestic and export markets. With
digital insights from ESSENTIALmonitor and reliable performance from every
machine, the customer now enjoys a long-term competitive advantage.
