Rick Owens And Adidas Unveil Climate Adaptive Apparel At Paris Fashion Week

Rick Owens and Adidas have reunited after nearly a decade to introduce a groundbreaking apparel collaboration featuring wearable cooling technology at the Spring Summer 2027 Paris Fashion Week. The collection debuted during an intense European heatwave, showcasing inflatable tracksuit jackets and shorts equipped with integrated fans powered by Adidas Climacool technology, effectively transforming garments into personal cooling systems.

The climate adaptive designs draw inspiration from cooling systems originally developed for elite athletes in FIFA and Formula 1, reflecting fashion's growing response to rising global temperatures. Rick Owens also shifted his runway presentation to an earlier morning slot, while misting fountains cooled models and guests during the outdoor show.

The collaboration marks the designer's first apparel partnership with Adidas after their influential footwear alliance ended in 2017. Innovations that combine performance textiles, wearable technology and climate resilience could reshape future sportswear and technical apparel development as demand rises for functional fashion solutions.
