Uzbekistan
and India’s Rupa & Company are exploring a joint knitwear manufacturing
venture. Talks between Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Sardor Rustambaev and Rupa
director Ramesh Agarwal focused on building production facilities in Uzbekistan
and expanding exports to Central Asia and CIS markets. Rupa, a leading Indian
knitwear and innerwear manufacturer with over 8,000 products and US$ 150
million annual turnover, aims to bring advanced production technologies and
quality standards to Uzbek partners. Both sides agreed to assess potential
facilities as the next step toward establishing the joint venture.
