From
Kashmir’s iconic Pashmina to Assam’s Muga silk, Rajasthan’s Bandhani to Tamil
Nadu’s Kanjeevaram, India’s textile heritage is stepping onto the world stage.
Bharat Tex 2026, from July 14-17 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, brings the
country’s entire textile ecosystem under one roof, turning tradition,
technology and trade into a powerful growth story.
Built
around Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 5F Vision - Farm to Fibre to Factory to
Fashion to Foreign, Bharat Tex 2026 showcases India’s ambition to become a
global textile manufacturing powerhouse.
The
scale is massive. More than 1,600 exhibitors will showcase the complete textile
value chain from fibre and yarn to fabrics, apparel, home textiles, technical
textiles and machinery. The event is expected to attract over 7,000 buyers from
more than 110 countries, 1.3 lakh trade visitors, and feature over 3,500
curated B2B meetings.
International
participation has grown significantly, with exhibitors and delegations from
countries including the US, UK, Japan, Portugal, Spain, New Zealand, South
Korea, South Africa and Nepal, along with representation from global
institutions such as the United Nations and the European Union.
For
India’s textile industry, the event comes at a time of major transformation.
The sector contributes 2.3% to India’s GDP, 13% to industrial production and
8.6% to exports, while supporting livelihoods of more than 100 million people,
including millions of women in rural areas.
The
government’s push for scale is visible across the value chain. The PLI Scheme
for Textiles has attracted investment commitments of over ₹31,687 crore, while
seven PM MITRA Parks are being developed as integrated textile manufacturing
hubs. At the grassroots level, nearly ₹2,000 crore has been invested through
handloom development programmes, supporting clusters, weavers and skill
development.
Sustainability
and innovation will remain at the heart of Bharat Tex 2026. The event’s Global
Textile Dialogue will feature over 100 sessions with more than 370 global and
Indian leaders discussing trade, technology, circularity, fashion and future
opportunities.
As
global brands look for reliable, sustainable and integrated supply chains,
Bharat Tex 2026 sends a clear message: India is not just making textiles for
the world, it is building the future of textiles.
The
event marks another major step towards India’s ambition of creating a US$ 350
billion textile industry by 2030 and advancing the vision of Viksit Bharat @
2047.
